Custom Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist

The successful candidate will be a professional individual capable of taking care of the machine, the job, and the position, within a safety first, air conditioned environment. Our wages are very competitive and based on the skill that that applicant brings to the position. 

Our Tos and Toshiba boring mills are current editions, using the latest Heidenhain and TOSNUC controls. We have invested in an extensive amount of resident tooling, located at each machine to assist in the machining of the wide variety of work piece types we manufacture.

We are seeking an individual with proven skills in:

• work piece, machine and tooling setup,
• program editing,
• tool selection and understanding of wear,
• tool parameter setting,  
• use of measuring instruments.

 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Recognized Certificate of Qualification as Machinist or equivalent work experience required
2. Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
3. Minimum of 5 years related experience required in machining
4. Operating knowledge of CNC Horizontal Boring Mills
5. Ability to utilize overhead crane to lift and maneuver large work pieces safely
6. CNC programming is an asset
7. Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve issues with sound judgment
8. Knowledge of Mastercam is an asset
9. Knowledge of GD&T an asset.
10. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
11. Good mathematical skills
12. Good communication skills.

 COMPENSATION

Our compensation is based on experience and ability. The base rate for a custom machinist is $30/hour.
This is a permanent, fulltime position for a senior machnist. A work week consists of 44 hours. Overtime is often available, but not mandatory.   We appreciate the interest of all applicants, however only qualified candidates with the necessary experience will be contacted.
